| Hey Everyone! I know it has been a long time since I have updated on this, but I finally have some exciting news for everyone. Last week Wednesday I sucessfully passed my test for the commercial multi-engine course here at Embry-Riddle. I am now a fully certified commercial pilot, well maybe not fully certified. I am now training for my single-engine add-on for the commercial license. How exciting, huh? Well I hope everyone has a great day! Tim Van Der Heide | | |
| Hey Everybody!
I hope everyone is doing well today. I am just sitting in our new apartment and relaxing. My dad flew into Daytona Beach last week Friday and helped us move into our new apartment in Port Orange. All day saturday we moved. It was very hot outside and we sweat a lot. We managed to get almost everything moved, though. We rented a 10' U-Haul truck to help get the job done. It is nice to be in the new apartment. It is much larger. We now have about 990 square feet compared to the 695 or so at our old apartment. We now have an extra bedroom and bathroom, so if anyone wants to visit they are welcome!
Everything else in life is going well too. I received another 4.0 the second summer session. So I ended with a 4.0 for the whole summer, having taken a total of 18 credit hours. I was pretty happy. Fall semester starts on the 28th, and I am looking forward to that. It isn't fun just sitting around all day doing nothing. I get bored very easily. I only have one more year of school left as well, how joyous. Then we will hopefully get to move back to Michigan. We will see what happens between now and then though.
Well, I should probably get going. I hope everyone has a great day and I'll talk to you later!

| Hey everybody!
I hope everyone has been having a great summer so far. As you can see, I recently updated the look of my page. I hope that you find it enjoyable. If you wait long enough there should be some live air traffic controlling from the Orlando approach frequency. I also put a picture of the Orlando tower on the top, along with another picture of an approach control room.
As you know, Laura and I went to Chicago for her brother's wedding on July 1st. It was a very enjoyable trip, and it was nice to be able to see our family once again. We flew into Chicago on June 30, and stayed in Chicago until the 2nd of July. We did quite a few things while there. The morning of the 1st Laura and I went with my family to visit the Lincoln Park Zoo. It was very nice there. I just love to see all the different animals. Then of course at night we went to Jeff and Michelle's wedding, where I got a very bad headache. The next day Laura and I went with her family to visit the Museum of Science and Industry. It was a great time had by all. I really enjoyed it because I like all the different types of sciences and so forth. After that we ended up driving back to Michigan until we flew out of Grand Rapids on the 4th. It was a very good trip. Then it was time to get back into the swing of things down here. I started school again and Laura went back to work.
Later today we should hear something about the apartment we are hoping to move to in August. I have to call them around noon to see if we have been approved yet. I hope all went well and we are. It will be nice to be able to know we have a place. We have had a very hard time working with them, and will be happy when we know we are in.
Well I should probably get going. I have two tests this morning, and then a flight this afternoon. I have to ride my bike to school today, so I should probably go get ready. Again, I hope everyone is enjoying their summer. Have a great day!

| Hey Everybody!
I hope everyone has had an enjoyable past few days since I've last posted. Not much has happened since then. I did take my flight portion of the commercial multi-engine checkride, however I did not do too well, so I must retake it when we get back from Chicago. Speaking of Chicago, I will be picking Laura up from work in about 35 minutes and then we will be driving straight to Orlando for our flight to Chicago O'hare. It will be nice to visit with our family once again.
Both Laura and I are taking off on Monday, since we both had either work or school. That way we could extend our stay and be there until Tuesday afternoon. Tomorrow I think we will be going to the zoo with everyone, and then Jeff's wedding is also tomorrow night. It should be an enjoyable weekend overall.
Well, I guess I should get going and make sure we have everything packed since we won't be coming back to the apartment. I hope everyone has a safe and enjoyable weekend!

| Hey Everyone!
I hope you have all been doing well lately. I had my check oral for my multi-engine commercial rating this afternoon. I passed with flying colors (no pun intended). I also had my physics final this morning. I feel like I did very well on it. I only needed to receive a 45% in order to maintain my A, so I'm pretty sure I did that.
I received an A in both aerodynamics and turbines. So my GPA for this summer session is most likely going to be a 4.0. Woohoo! I am happy for that.
I received my first piece of mail from the FAA training facility in Oklahoma City, OK. That was a nice little treat. It was just basically a page telling how much I will be making, depending on where I will be working. It was exciting none-the-less.
This weekend Laura and I will be traveling up to Chicago for her brother's wedding. That will be a nice little break from life down here for a little bit.
Anyway, not much else happening here. Maybe I'll update again before we leave for Chicago just to give a little more in depth detail of what has been happening here. Have a great time until then!
